Position held Junior Resource Person - II
Experience in research, training and documentation
  • Worked as a Junior Resource Person in the project ‘Orthography Development of North-eastern Languages’ from August 23, 2021 to September 11, 2022, on language documentation, transcription of audio data and linguistic data analysis. 
  • Worked as a Project Linked Personnel at Linguistic Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, in the project ‘Bangla POS Tagged Text Corpus Generation”, from July 2018 – March 2021, on normalization of Bangla text corpus and Parts of Speech Tagging of the same. Also assisted in designing the tool (POS tagger) for the project. 
  •  Worked as a Linguistic Resource Person (freelance) at Language Division, Office of the Registrar General of India, Kolkata and Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysuru in the  project- Mother Tongue Survey of India, from February 2018 – March 2021, on transcription and detailed linguistic analysis of audio data of various indigenous languages (Mother Tongues) spoken in India.
  •  Worked as a field enumerator at Centre for Endangered Languages, Visva-Bharati, Bolpur, from 27th to 31st March, 2018.
  •  Worked as one of the field linguists in ‘Linguistic Field Survey and Language Data Collection’ on Mohanpuri dialect, conducted by Linguistic Research unit, Indian Statistical Institute, in five different villages of West Midnapur, West Bengal, India, from 6th to 11th March, 2016.
  •  Worked as a researcher at the Linguistic Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata from November 2016 to December 2017 on creating a database of Bangla consonant clusters and compilation of Bengali Digital Pronunciation Dictionary (entry of meaning and usage of words, transcription, translation and validation of data.)
  •  Worked as a Senior Linguist in the project Indian Languages Corpora Initiative (Phase-II), funded by the Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India, which included translation from Hindi to Bangla, grammatical annotation (POS tagging and chunking of data) containing more than one lac sentences on 18 different domains like Entertainment, Agriculture, Economics etc. The project constituted of both monolingual and parallel corpora and it continued from November 2015 to October 2016. Also, led and managed a team of five members to produce quality work within the given deadline.
  • Worked as a research intern at Linguistic Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in the project ‘Bengali Digital Pronunciation Dictionary’ (meaning and usage) and ‘Indian Languages Corpora Initiative’ (translation and validation of corpus) from July 2015 to November 2015.

  •  Attended the Conference on 'Bharatiya Languages and India as One Linguistic Area' held at Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore from 28th tto 29th May, 2024.
  •  Participated IN Technology and Bharatiya Bhasha Summit jointly organised by CIIL, UGC, AICTE, NETF, BBS, NCERT, NCVET, at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath, New Delhi on 30th September and 1st October, 2023.
  • Participated in a Summer School in Computational Linguistics, SSCL - 2023, organised by the Linguistic Data Consortium for Indian Languages, CIIL, Mysuru from June 19 to July 3, 2023.
  • Participated in a five day workshop on ‘Language Description and Sciences’, (WorLDS-4), from September 21-25, 2020, organised by the Department of Tribal Studies, Central University of Jharkhand, in collaboration with Central Institute of Indian Languages, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • Attended an international online seminar on ‘Documentation of Endangered Languages’ on 12 and 13th of August, 2020, organized by the Department of Linguistics, University of Kerela, Kasaragod, in collaboration with Endangered Languages Documentation Programme, SOAS University of London, United Kingdom and University of North Texas, USA.
  •  Participated in a one week international e-workshop on Language Translation skills, organized by Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with National Translation Mission, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysuru, Government of India, from August 8th to 12th, 2020.

Publications

Published a paper titled ‘Social Networks and their Impacts on the languages of Khatra, in Connection to Communication Accommodation Theory’ in the book ‘On Linguistics and Literary studies in India’ bearing ISBN No. 978-93-81101-98-8, in the year 2023.
